Sign-in errors
What each sign-in error at app.pagestax.com means and how to get past it.
When signing in at app.pagestax.com doesn't finish, PageStax brings you back to Sign in to PageStax with a message. Each message comes from a short error code (auth_error), listed below — quote the message or the code if you contact support.

Install PageStax from the Shopify App Store first, then sign in here. | Install PageStax from the Shopify App Store (or reinstall it, if it was uninstalled), then sign in again. app.pagestax.com only signs in stores that already have PageStax. |
invalid_shop | That does not look like a Shopify store address. Use the one ending in .myshopify.com. | Enter your store's myshopify address, for example your-store.myshopify.com (or just your-store). A custom domain like www.yourbrand.com won't work. You can find the address in your Shopify admin under Settings → Domains. |
state | The sign-in took too long or started in another tab. Try again. | Start again in a single tab and finish within 10 minutes. Make sure your browser accepts cookies from app.pagestax.com. |
hmac | Shopify's reply could not be verified. Try signing in again. | Start again from the sign-in screen rather than reusing an old link. If it keeps happening, check your computer's clock is set automatically. |
exchange | Shopify did not grant access. Try again, and approve the permissions when asked. | Try again, and press approve on Shopify's permissions screen. You need to be logged in to that store's Shopify admin with permission to manage apps. |

Other things that can happen#
- You're asked to sign in again. Sign-ins last 7 days in a browser. You'll also need to sign in again after PageStax is reinstalled.
- "Sign-in is not configured on this server." This is a problem on our side, not yours. Please contact support.
- It works inside Shopify admin but not at app.pagestax.com. Your browser may be blocking cookies for app.pagestax.com. Allow them and try again, or use PageStax from Apps in your Shopify admin.
Signing in psx#
The command-line tool uses agent tokens rather than this sign-in. If psx login --check says the token is not accepted, create a new token in Settings → Integrations. See Agent tokens.
