Quantity breaks and bundles

Offer multi-packs, bundles and subscriptions in the buy box, each priced by Shopify — and why cart bundle pricing is refused.

Quantity breaks ("Buy 2, save 10%") and bundles live in your product page's buy box as buying options. Each option is a real way to buy: it adds the right variant, quantity, selling plan and extra products to the Shopify cart.

Set up buying options#

  1. Open the product page in the editor and select the buy box's options group.
  2. Its Content tab becomes the buying-options panel. It shows which product the buy box is linked to.
  3. Press + Add buying option for each option you want, then open one to edit it.

For each option set:

  • Label, Subtitle, Badge and Perks (one per line) — what shoppers read;
  • This option is — One-time purchase, Subscription, Bundle (multiple products) or Volume / multi-pack;
  • Buys variant and Units per order;
  • for a subscription, a real selling plan;
  • for a bundle, the products under Also adds to the cart — each becomes its own cart line;
  • an optional Discount — Percent off or Amount off.

The panel shows What the shopper pays, worked out from the linked product. You never type prices.

Make the discount real#

A discount on a buying option is only a claim until there is a Shopify code behind it. Press Create discount code. PageStax creates the code in Shopify (limited to the products involved, or capped in use) and applies it when the shopper adds that option to the cart. The code lasts 30 days; press Refresh discount code to renew it.

Subscriptions#

A subscription option needs a selling plan created by a subscriptions app. PageStax sells whatever plans your products already have; it doesn't bill subscriptions itself. If your store has no selling plans, the option is shown as a one-time purchase and the inspector explains why.

When a buy box offers both, a Subscription / one-time switcher appears. Its tabs only filter the options — they never change a price.

Why cart "bundle pricing" is refused#

A bundle buying option in the buy box works: it adds every product in one go and applies its code. A bundle-pricing offer in the cart is different — nothing on the storefront can show it or apply its price yet, so shoppers would never see it. PageStax refuses to put it live and tells you so.
