Offers overview and go-live checks

The kinds of offer PageStax runs, what each needs in Shopify, and how go-live checks keep every promise real.

Offers are the things that help shoppers buy more: a cross-sell in the cart, a quantity break in the buy box, a free-shipping or free-gift milestone, a countdown. PageStax has one rule for all of them: if Shopify won't honour it, PageStax won't show it. A discount always has a real Shopify discount behind it, a gift is really free, and "free shipping" matches a real free rate.

Where offers live#

  • In your pages. Buy boxes, rewards bars, add-on toggles, in-cart offer slots and countdowns are elements you add and set up in the editor.
  • In the Offers tab. The Offers list shows each offer's Mechanism (what makes it real), where it shows, its 30-day results and its status: Live, Needs a fix, Paused or Draft.
  • In journeys, which show offers at set moments. See Journeys, frequency caps and holdouts.

What each reward needs#

RewardWhat makes it real in Shopify
Full price (no discount)A real product variant — added at its normal price, no code needed.
Percent or amount offA Shopify discount code that exists and is active.
Free shippingA delivery rate in your shipping settings that is free at or below your threshold.
Free giftAn automatic Shopify discount that makes the gift variant free once the cart reaches the goal. PageStax creates it for you.
Bundle pricing in the cartNot available yet — refused at go-live. Sell the bundle as its own product, or use a bundle buying option in the buy box.

Go-live checks#

A new offer is always a draft. When an offer goes live, PageStax checks it against your store, right then:

  • the suggested product has a variant, and the product is active and on the Online Store sales channel;
  • a discount code exists in Shopify and is active;
  • a free gift's automatic discount exists, is active, makes that exact variant free, and doesn't need a bigger cart than your goal — PageStax switches the gift's discount on at this moment;
  • for free shipping, a delivery rate is free at or below your threshold.

If anything fails, the offer stays a draft and you get one sentence naming the problem, such as "Winter socks" cannot go live: code WINTER10 does not exist in Shopify, so checkout would reject it. See Offer refused at go-live.

Then push live#

Going live is a decision; shoppers see the offer from the next Push live. See Publishing, push live and unpublishing.
