Install PageStax
Install PageStax from the Shopify App Store, approve its permissions, and switch on the app embed.
PageStax connects to your store through Shopify. Installing it changes nothing on your storefront: your theme stays exactly as it is until you publish a page.
Install from the Shopify App Store#
PageStax is installed from the Shopify App Store, like any other Shopify app.
- Open PageStax on the Shopify App Store. The Install from the Shopify App Store buttons on pagestax.com go to the same page.
- Press Install and, if Shopify asks, choose the store to install it on.
- Review the permissions and approve them. PageStax opens inside your Shopify admin, ready to use.
After that, open PageStax from your Shopify admin under Apps, or sign in at app.pagestax.com to use it in its own browser tab. See Sign in outside Shopify.
What PageStax asks permission for#
Shopify shows the full list when you approve the app. In plain terms, PageStax needs to:
- Read and update products — to show live prices, options and stock on your pages, and to create an add-on product when you ask it to.
- Edit Online Store pages and theme files — to publish store pages, product pages and (if you choose) your home page.
- Upload files — images you add to your pages are stored in your store's Content → Files.
- Read shipping settings — to check that a free-shipping offer matches a real free rate.
- Create discounts — for buying options, reward milestones and free gifts that need a real Shopify discount.
- Add a web pixel and read customer events — so purchases can be counted in your analytics.
Switch on the app embed#
Some pages are shown on your storefront through PageStax's app embed. When a publish needs it, the publish window shows a one-time step:
- Click the link in the publish window. Shopify's theme editor opens with the PageStax embed already switched on.
- Press Save in the theme editor.
If you prefer to do it yourself: in the theme editor open App embeds, switch on PageStax, and save. You can check its status any time in PageStax under Settings → Publishing & embed.
