Editing text, images and links

Select any element on the canvas and its settings open in the inspector on the right. Every element uses the same three tabs:

Content — what it says or shows, where its data comes from, and what it does when clicked.
Style — colours, typography, spacing, size and effects.
Layout — how it sits among its neighbours.

Change text#

Select the text and edit it in the Content tab. If the element shows Live in its Data group, its value comes from your product (for example the product title). To write your own, switch it to Manual — PageStax fills in the live value first so you can edit from there.

Replace an image#

Select the image.
In Content, press Upload and choose a file, or paste an image address into …or paste image URL and press Enter.

Uploaded images go to your store's Shopify Files. PageStax resizes large photos in your browser first (to 2000 px on the longest side), and the file must be 8 MB or less after that. In Style → Size you can set an Aspect ratio and how the image Fills the frame by.

Set a link#

Buttons, images, icons and text can link somewhere. In Content → Behavior, choose:

No link;
External URL — enter the address; Open in new tab is on by default;
Store page — one of your PageStax pages;
Section on this page — jumps to a section.

To see every link on the page in one place, open Page settings on the left rail and look under Links on this page.

Style an element#

In the Style tab:

Appearance — Color, Background, Border color and width, Corner radius, Opacity;
Typography — Font, size, weight, letter spacing, line height and alignment (for text-like elements);
Spacing — padding top & bottom, left & right;
Size — Width and Max width;
Effects — an animation On scroll into view (such as Fade up or Zoom in), with duration and delay. Shoppers who ask their device for reduced motion don't see these animations.

The bar at the top of Style switches between Base, ≥700 and ≥900 screen widths, so you can set a different size or spacing for larger screens.

To reuse a look, select an element, press Copy style, select another element of the same type and press Paste style. Reset returns an element to the section's original design.

Page title and SEO#

With nothing selected, the inspector shows the page's SEO settings: Meta title, Meta description (a counter warns past 160 characters), Social share image URL and Hide from search engines. Republish the page for SEO changes to go live.
