Troubleshooting

Page isn't live, or shows old content

Why a page shows as not published, shows the theme first, or doesn't show your latest changes — and how to fix it.

The page says "not published" or "Draft"#

It has never been published. Open it and press Publish, or press Publish on its card in Pages. See Publishing, push live and unpublishing.

The card says "Draft changes"#

The page is live, but shoppers still see the previous version — your edits are waiting. Press Push changes live on the card, or push from Home. Changes usually go live within a minute.

"N changes not live yet" on Offers, Journeys or A/B tests#

Offers, journeys and changes to them reach shoppers only when you push live. Open Push changes live from Home, keep the items Included, and press Push N live.

A brand-new page says "This page could not be loaded"#

The very first view of a new page can take up to a minute to reach every server. Wait a moment and refresh.

The theme's page shows for a moment, then the PageStax page#

On some stores PageStax shows pages through the app embed instead of a theme template. Make sure the embed is on (App embeds → PageStax in your theme editor, then Save). If your store allows PageStax to install its template on your theme, it does so automatically when you publish, and the flash goes away.

If you recently switched themes, PageStax installs its template on the new theme automatically. Publishing the page again also fixes it straight away.

A product page shows the template's demo product#

The page's sections aren't linked to a real product. Link the product (select the section, then Link a product… in Content) and publish again. See Product pages and live product data.

Publishing is refused#

Read the message — it says what to do. Common ones:

  • A plan limit — Free plan allows 1 published page…. Unpublish another page or change plan. See Plans, limits and the 14-day trial.
  • A product is missing — the page shows a product that is no longer in your catalogue. Link a different product or restore it in Shopify.
  • The catalogue couldn't be read — Shopify didn't answer. Try again in a minute.
  • A saved section is missing — a section on the page refers to a saved section that is no longer in your library. Remove or replace that section.
  • The homepage changed — someone edited the theme's homepage after PageStax took it over. PageStax won't overwrite that work.

SEO changes don't show#

Title, description and share image are published with the page. Republish it after changing them.
