Troubleshooting
Offer refused at go-live
What each go-live refusal means and how to fix it in Shopify.
When an offer goes live, PageStax checks it against your store. If something isn't real — a code that doesn't exist, a gift that would be charged — the offer stays a draft and you get one sentence explaining why. It always starts "[offer name]" cannot go live:. Find your message below.
"…code WINTER10 does not exist in Shopify…"#
The discount code named on the offer isn't in your store, or is expired or scheduled. Create or reactivate it in Shopify admin → Discounts, or create the code from PageStax (the Create discount code buttons in the editor), then try again.
"…no Shopify delivery rate is free…" / "…the free rate Shopify has … does not make every cart of $75 free…"#
A free-shipping offer needs a delivery rate that is free at or below its threshold. The message lists the rates PageStax found. Fix it either way:
- In Shopify admin → Settings → Shipping and delivery, add a free rate for orders from your threshold (for example free from $75); or
- change the offer's threshold to match a free rate you already have.
If the message says PageStax could not read the shop's delivery rates, approve PageStax's shipping permission when Shopify asks (see Settings → Store & catalog → Shopify permissions).
"…its free-gift discount … does not exist" / "…is expired…" / "…does not make variant … free"#
A free gift needs the automatic Shopify discount PageStax created for it. It may have been deleted or changed in Shopify. Recreate it: in the editor select the rewards bar and press Make gift(s) free in Shopify. If the message says the discount only makes it free from a higher amount, the discount and the milestone's goal disagree — recreate the discount.
"…[product] is draft in Shopify, so shoppers cannot buy it…"#
The suggested product or the gift isn't active. Set it to Active in Shopify admin → Products.
"…is not on the Online Store sales channel…"#
Add the product to the Online Store sales channel in its Publishing settings in Shopify.
"…suggests [product] but names no variant…" / "…its variant … is not in this shop"#
A cross-sell must point at a real variant, or accepting it would never reach checkout. Pick the variant again.
"Bundle pricing cannot go live…"#
Cart bundle pricing isn't supported yet. Sell the bundle as its own product, or use a Bundle (multiple products) buying option in your buy box. See Quantity breaks and bundles.
"No reward set…" / "…is not backed by a Shopify discount code yet" / "…stores no threshold"#
The offer is missing the thing that makes it work — a reward, a code, or a threshold. Add it and try again.
"…no store is connected…"#
There is nothing to check against. Open PageStax from your Shopify admin (or sign in at app.pagestax.com) and try again.
After an offer goes live, remember to push live so shoppers see it. See Offers overview and go-live checks.
