Free-shipping and free-gift milestones

A rewards bar shows shoppers how close they are to a reward — "Spend $25 more for free shipping". Each step is a milestone. PageStax has no built-in rewards: every milestone is a promise you make, so each needs something real in Shopify behind it.

Add a rewards bar#

1. Open your cart design in the editor (see Cart design and the cart drawer).
2. Add a section with a rewards bar, or select the one your template already has.
3. Select the bar. In Content, find Milestones.

Until you add a milestone, the bar shows nothing on your storefront.

Set up milestones#

For each milestone, set the goal (the cart value or item count that unlocks it), the type, and the label shoppers see. Types:

Free shipping#

The bar only shows progress — it can't make shipping free on its own. Set up the matching rate in Shopify:

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Shipping and delivery.
2. Add a free rate that applies to orders at or above your goal (for example, free from $75).

When a free-shipping offer goes live, PageStax reads your delivery rates and refuses it — listing the rates it found — unless one is free at or below the threshold.

Discount#

A discount milestone only takes money off when a real Shopify code sits behind it. Press Create discount code(s) in Shopify under the milestones. Until then it shows as a milestone and nothing is discounted.

Free gift#

1. Enter the Gift variant ID of the product to give away.
2. Press Make gift(s) free in Shopify. PageStax creates an automatic discount in Shopify: one of that variant free once the rest of the cart reaches the goal, once per order.

In the cart, PageStax adds the gift when the cart reaches the goal and removes it if the cart drops below. Because the discount is automatic, Shopify applies it wherever the shopper checks out. Until the discount exists, no gift is added and the milestone is hidden from shoppers.

Publish#

Publish or push your cart design live. Shoppers see the bar in the drawer and on /cart.
