Product pages and live product data

A product page shows one product. Its buy box, title, price, options, photos, rating and delivery estimate can all be live: they read from the product in Shopify instead of being typed in, so they are always correct.

Link a product#

When you create a product page from Pages → Create page → Product page, every section is linked to the product you pick. To link a section later, or to link a different product:

Select the section.
In Content, find the product link. On sections that only hold text and images it starts collapsed as Link a product… — open it.
Choose the product. The section's live elements fill in from it.

To stop following a product, choose Not linked — manual content. Re-sync refreshes the section from the product.

Live or manual, per element#

Select an element that can show product data — a price, a title, an image, a rating, a stock line — and look at the Data group in Content:

Live follows the product. The inspector shows the live value, what it follows, and what the storefront does if there is no value.
Manual lets you write your own. Switching to Manual copies the live value in first.

Live data includes the title, description, vendor, price (and compare-at price for the selected variant), options and swatches, images, stock, delivery estimates and your approved PageStax reviews.

What shoppers see#

Options and variants follow the shopper's choices: price, stock and Add to cart update for the variant they pick. Options that are sold out are disabled.
Stock follows Shopify's rules. If a variant keeps selling when out of stock, nothing alarming is shown; Sold out appears only when Shopify stops selling it.
Add to cart adds the real variant to the Shopify cart. Buy now can go to checkout or to the product page, whichever you choose on the button.
Delivery estimates come from your Shopify delivery methods.

Buying options#

A buy box can offer several ways to buy — one-time, subscription, a bundle or a multi-pack. Select the buy box group and its Content tab becomes the buying-options panel. Prices are always worked out from the linked product; you never type them. See Quantity breaks and bundles.

Publishing#

Publish with Replace a product page and pick the product. The page then shows at that product's normal address, /products/<handle>. At publish time PageStax reads the product's current data from your catalogue, so republish (or push live) after big product changes such as new variants or photos.
