Saved sections

A saved section is a section you have designed and kept in My sections, so you can add the same design to other pages instead of rebuilding it. Headers and footers are the most common use.

How copies work#

When you add a saved section to a page, PageStax copies it into that page. Each copy is then part of its page. Editing one page's copy does not change the others, and nothing changes on a page behind your back.

Save a section#

1. Select the section on the canvas.
2. In its toolbar press Save as one of my sections (or press Save to my sections in the inspector).
3. Enter a name and confirm.

The section now appears under My sections in Add sections and in the Section library (filter by Theme → My sections).

Add it to another page#

1. Open the other page in the editor.
2. Open Add sections and find it under My sections.
3. Drag it into place, or press ＋.

Update a saved section#

After you change a copy, you can make that the new saved design:

1. Select the changed section.
2. In the inspector press Update saved section. The button also tells you how many other pages use it.

This updates the saved design in your library. It does not change the copies already on other pages — they keep their current look until the saved section is applied to them again. Applying an update to every page at once is currently done with the psx command-line tool (psx sections apply). See The psx CLI quick start.

Remove a saved section#

In the Section library, press the delete icon on a saved section's card. This removes it from your library only — every copy already on a page stays. Deleting happens immediately and can't be undone with the editor's undo.
